Prayer Hall Expansion

The story

The temple’s prayer hall is the heart of daily worship and the temple’s largest festival gatherings — but the congregation has outgrown it. On major festival nights like Maha Shivaratri and Diwali, devotees already fill the hall well past comfortable capacity, with many standing in doorways and hallways to take part. This project extends the prayer hall itself, adding meaningful additional floor space for prayer, seating, and festival celebration. How This Helps The temple: A larger hall lets the temple host its full congregation for every festival, without turning devotees away or asking them to worship from outside the room. It also gives the temple room to grow rather than reaching capacity again in a few years. The immediate community: Families can attend festival celebrations together, comfortably, rather than splitting up or arriving hours early to find space. Elderly devotees and those with young children benefit especially from more breathing room. The wider community: A larger, more welcoming hall means Shri Shiv Dham can better serve as a gathering place for Central Florida’s whole Hindu community — including guests from other temples and traditions who join for major celebrations.
